After our new stamp post, Rowan of Cheddar sent this: the Penny Black, the world's first official adhesive postage stamp. It was issued in Britain on 1 May 1840. The profile is a young Queen Victoria. The postage stamp cost one penny. The red marks represent the stamp's cancellation.
